During an appearance on Be A Man, Yaar via DNA India, Vicky Kaushal revealed he earned Rs 1,500 as his first paycheque for working as a production boy: “After I had completed my engineering and decided to pursue acting, I was working with Rage Productions, a company managed by Rahul Da Cunha, Rajit Kapur and Shernaz Patel. At that time, I was a production boy, specifically handling costumes. It was there that I received my very first earnings, a cheque of Rs 1,500.”
Taking about the prideful moment of earning his first-ever paycheque, Vicky Kaushal further recalled, “This moment held great significance for me. Until then, I used to only help in my dad’s bank work. So, when I finally held my cheque in my hands, it was a memorable experience. I can still vividly remember that night; it was around 10:30 pm, and I was seated at Bandra station, gazing at the Rs 1,500 cheque with my name, Vicky Kaushal, printed on it.”

Vicky Kaushal currently charges Rs 10 crore for a movie. According to Financial Express, the actor took home Ts 10 Crore for Sam Bahadur, a biopic on Sam Manekshaw, India’s first field marshal and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Vicky Kaushal’s next release after Bad Newz is Chhava, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna. In the Laxman Utekar directorial, Kaushal will be essaying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire and the eldest son of Shivaji. Chhava is slated to release on December 6, 2024.
Vicky Kaushal will also be collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the first time in Love & War. The epic saga, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is slated for a Christmas 2025 release.
