Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show embraces trademark sexiness —and looks better for it

They’re bringing sexy back. Because no one really wanted it to go away.

In May, Victoria’s Secret announced its once-coveted show fashion show lingerie extravaganza “Will come back and reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love – glamour, runways, wings, musical entertainment, and more!”

But who they are today is essentially what they were during the heyday of their hotness, with a slight expansion of their approach to beauty.

Last night’s Panty Parade aired live on Amazon Prime, featuring familiar faces, veterans who wore the famous wings before it was canceled in 2019.

Celestials like Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid, Mayova Nichols, Barbara Palvin, Behati Prinsloo, Jasmine Tookes and more Adriana Lima,

Gorgeous plus-size mannequins are Paloma Elessar and Ashley Graham, who said she agreed to walk because the brand plans to add larger sizes.

“I really like to be a woman of her word,” Graham, who has more than 21 million followers on Instagram, told Entertainment Tonight. “And make sure the people and companies I associate with are serving the women who are following me in large numbers.”

He added the former French first lady Carla BruniStill a babe at 56.

Yes, for all the handwringing, for all the lectures on body positivity and corporate self-flagellation, it’s back to hot supermodels walking down the runway in tiny, shiny bras and underwear—not just for humans. Are.

annual Lingerie show held on ice Due to poor ratings and a bad smell from inside the corporate headquarters, which was spreading due to the #Metoo uproar and ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The impetus for their downfall was Ed Razek, the show’s architect, telling Vogue in 2018 that they shouldn’t be running “transsexuals” “because the show is a fantasy.”

Rezak was later threatened by trans models and forced to surrender. “I apologize. Frankly, we will definitely cast a transgender model for the show,” she said, before resigning in 2019.

The once dominant brand giant has thrown itself into cultural purgatory and attempted to rebrand in 2021 as a vehicle for women’s empowerment.

She formed the very official-sounding, VS Collective, a group of seven women, many of them non-models, who were tasked with bringing about “positive change” instead of tickling.

Or in the case of member Megan Rapinoe, leading a shaming campaign from within.

In a New York Times article unveiling her new initiative, Rapinoe described the company as “patriarchal, sexist, not just about what it means to be sexy, but also about looking at clothing through a male lens and what men want. “And it was marketed very much to young women.”

He said it was “really harmful”.

But it turns out, a gay activist’s “harmfulness” is totally amazing to people.

Last year, he returned to the show with #thetour, a collection of bizarre film vignettes featuring a series of models in scruffy clothes. It was neither attractive nor aspirational.

Now the brand’s embrace of its original formula was successful for a reason. Both men and women appreciate the female form.

After all, the embrace of sexuality before #metoo didn’t go away, it simply moved to OnlyFans Instagram or, as happened last spring, SNL when Hosted by Sydney Sweeney and her breasts,

And now we can stop pretending that a company selling notable content means to be the moral arbiter. Sometimes a push up bra is just a push up bra.
