Posters with names and photos of “Wanted” UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson murdered And other high-profile health insurance executives began popping up around Manhattan sometime this week.
Videos shared on social media “Wanted” signs and green boxes with a large red X over Thompson’s face appeared on scaffolding at the corner of Canal Street and Center Street in lower Manhattan.
According to the video, other posters showed the faces of Optum CEO Heather Cianfroco and UnitedHealth CEO Andrew Vitti on green scaffolding on Wall Street.
The posters warn that “Health care CEOs should not feel safe” and include “Deny…Defend…Delete” – three words reportedly found on the bullets fired by Luigi Mangione Ged, who is accused of shooting and killing Thompson outside a Midtown hotel last week.
Sources told The Post that the “hit list” is believed to be a fear-mongering social media stunt meant to stoke hysteria, adding that the person on the hit list is not a real person.
The remains of the posters on Canal Street were torn down by Wednesday afternoon.
