This reimagined tribute piece features two rotating discs in the center of the dial, which work in tandem to display the watch’s power reserve. The technology was created and patented by Longines back in 1959, making it the first major technological update for the Conquest line. The power reserve, which goes all the way to 64 hours, is indicated on a thinner outer ring, while a central disc, featuring a baton-like shape etched onto it, moves concentrically to indicate the watch’s remaining run time. But the watch’s movement doesn’t quite run out of juice that quickly since it can be rewound by simply rotating the crown, or, if you aren’t one to make that sort of an effort, a simple twist of the wrist ought to incrementally increase the power reserve.
A grand total of four concentric circles define the dial design, with twelve-hour markers available in yellow gold, rose gold or silver coloured hour markers, while the dial is available in anthracite, champagne or black.
Not surprisingly though, much like most modern tribute watches, the Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve is powered by a new movement – the Longines L896.5 calibre visible via the transparent caseback. Interestingly, the silicon balance-spring-equipped movement offers ten times greater magnetic resistance than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. Available in a 38mm stainless steel case with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, the Heritage Conquest is available in black or grey alligator leather straps.
