Paramount+ is all set to make a series on the unfortunate murder of a six-year-old kid, JonBenét RamseyMelissa McCarthy and Clive Owen are set to star in the limited series. The news of the young beauty queen's murder was not the only information that attracted attention. Many of the details revealed by the investigation were so vague that it divided authorities and the nation.
JonBenét Ramsay was the second and youngest child of Patricia 'Patsy' Ramsay and John Bennett Ramsay. JonBenét's mother entered her six-year-old daughter into a children's beauty pageant. Patsy also participated in similar competitions at a young age. But the child met a terrible end.
Who was JonBenét Ramsey?
In 1996, JonBenét was found dead in the Ramsey family's basement. The child was reported missing seven hours before she was found. The autopsy determined JonBenét's cause of death to be asphyxiation from strangulation followed by cranial trauma. JonBenét was strangled with a garrote tied around her neck. Patsy presented Boulder police with a two-and-a-half-page ransom note.

The police and district attorney suspected the parents because the ransom note was unnecessarily long and personal. Authorities believed the parents were trying to hide the murder. However, there was not enough evidence to indict them. In light of new evidence in 2002, the district attorney cleared the Ramsey family of any suspicion.

Chris McCarthy said, “This is the story of the Ramsey family's before and aftermath of the tragedy as they deal with the painful loss of a child, while facing intense public scrutiny due to the media frenzy that has caused the case to captivate the entire nation.” LaGravense will also serve as showrunner for the limited series.
