The 2024 Democratic National Convention has entered its second day after President Joe Biden’s emotional handover to Democratic Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris. Tuesday night will include a keynote address by former President Barack Obama, so read on to learn what time Day 2 will start and more details about the evening.
Tuesday’s theme is “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.” The second day of the DNC will focus on the differences between the agendas of the Harris-Walz campaign and the Trump-Vance ticket.
Speakers will include Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the billionaire politician whose powerful family Forbes ranked as the sixth-wealthiest in America in 2024. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and former First Lady Michelle Obama are also expected to speak, with former President Barack Obama delivering the closing keynote address.
The celebrity host of the night will be The View c0-host Ana Navarro. Actor Tony Goldwyn officially kicked off hosting duties on Monday, while actress Mindy Kaling will host on Wednesday, and Kerry Washington will close the week on Thursday, the same night Harris will address the crowd.
Musical performers for Tuesday night’s convention have not yet been announced. On Monday night, country singer Mickey Guyton and folk/Americana star Jason Isbell took the stage. Unfortunately, due to Day 1 running over an hour behind schedule, some planned speakers, including musician James Taylor, were bumped from the program.
