John Turturro, who stars in the 2022 film “The Batman,” said he opted to reprise his role in the HBO spinoff series, “The Penguin.”
“I did what I wanted to do with the role,” said Turtoreo, 67. told Variety,
“There was a lot of violence against women in the show and that’s not my thing,” she said.

In the 2022 film, Robert Pattinson plays Batman, while Colin Farrell plays Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, and Turtorro plays crime boss Carmine Falcone.
“It happens off-screen,” Turturro said, referring to Falcon’s violence in the film. “It’s scary that way.”
Airing Sundays (9 p.m.) on HBO and Max, “The Penguin” is a spinoff of “The Batman,” which follows Oz (Farrell) as he schemes to take down people in Gotham’s criminal underworld. And double crosses.
