Why Kate Middleton is retreating from the public eye after Wimbledon

Kate Middleton’s appearance at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Sunday was likely her last public outing for the foreseeable future, according to a royal author.

The Princess of Wales, 42, was greeted with a standing ovation at the annual grand slam — four months after she revealed her cancer diagnosis to the world.

Prominent royal author Robert Jobson, who penned the forthcoming book “Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen,” has given insight into the royal’s recovery plans.

“Before, she used to live her life by the calendar, and now she is living her life, and the calendar comes in after,” Jobson told People.

“She will be back, but when you have had an experience like this, it changes your perspective and the order of things.”

The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

The mom of three delighted fans as she arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club alongside her 9-year daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister Pippa Middleton.

An expert lip reader has since decoded the beloved royal’s reaction to the roaring applause she received upon arrival at Sunday’s match-up.

And Jobson told the outlet that Princess Catherine “showed a lot of courage and character, as she knew that the world was watching.”

His comments were echoed by a palace insider, who told the outlet that her outing likely gave her “sustenance.”

“She has gone through something awful and stressful, and it is crucial to have little wins to look forward to or to give you the courage and energy to go forward. And this was it,” the source said.

After the mom of three announced her cancer diagnosis in a pre-recorded video in March, she stayed away from the public eye to prioritize her treatment process.

But just 3 months later, the royal wrote in a letter that she was “making good progress” but had “good days and bad days” while going through chemotherapy.

The following day, she joined the royal family for King Charles’ birthday celebrations on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

With two high-profile public appearances under her belt this year, the Princess will now be returning to life away from the spotlight as she continues treatment.

The Waleses will seemingly spend the warm summer at their country home of Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.

“She won’t have to be on center stage,” an insider told the outlet. “Being with her family and just being herself will give her energy. There will be plenty of time to focus on her recovery.”

It’s likely that Middleton, along with her husband Prince William and their three children George, Charlotte, and Louis, will meet up with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle later on, where Their Majesties will be spending their summer.
