Florence “Fireball Flo” Hackman, the Ohio woman who went viral after taking shots to celebrate her birthday last year, recently turned 106 — and she’s still drinking Fireball.
“Flow brightens our days and reminds us of all the fun and joy we can experience later in life,” says Kristen Kelly, executive director of Traditions of Deerfield Senior Living Facility in Loveland, Ohio, where Hackman lives, told Fox News Digital.
Hackman’s happy-go-lucky attitude is “an inspiring way to live, and we love him for it,” Kelly said.
Born on December 16, 1918, “Fireball Flo” credits her long life to a positive attitude.
“I just try to be nice to people and try to go one day at a time – that’s all,” Hackman said in a quote published by Traditions of Deerfield.
“If you get it one day, you can move on to the next,” he said.
“So this is what you have to do – one day at a time – think about what I need to do today. You have to keep going as long as you can.”
His longevity may also have a genetic component: his mother lived to be 104.
In a video posted on Hackman’s birthday, she can be seen thanking everyone for coming out to celebrate him and encouraging them to “have a lot of fun out here.”
She said, laughing, “His family always had a lot of fun, and I could never get over that… maybe that’s why I’ve been here so long.”
It appeared that Hackman heeded his advice.
She sang “Happy Birthday” and took a shot of wine before blowing out the candles on her chocolate-frosted birthday cake.
The Ohio native and die-hard Cincinnati Bengals fan was also honored by the team on her birthday.
He hopes the Bengals, who are currently 6-8 and in third place in the AFC North, will return to the Super Bowl.
“Hopefully they go to the Super Bowl, and we would definitely like that. This will be a big thing. And, I think, hopefully they will do that as long as I’m here,” Hackman said.
Last year, in honor of his 105th birthday, Fireball sent Hackman 105 shots of its Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, Fox News Digital reported at the time.
