A woman found a giant 11-pound mushroom while out walking — and she took it home to eat for a week.
Alisimon Minuit, 27, was with her father near North Marston, Bucks, when they saw a large white object in a field.
Believing that someone had fly-tipped the fly, Elsimon initially thought it was fridge or plastic waste.
But, after touching it to confirm, she realized it was actually a large puffball mushroom – weighing in at 11 pounds.
Alisimon took it to her parents’ home where she stayed for a week – and the mushrooms fed her and her parents for the remainder of her stay.
Musician Alsimon, who lives in Chesham, Bucks, said: “I was absolutely shocked when I realized it was a mushroom.
“To be honest, it was about twice the size of my head.
“It was also a strange coincidence because my father and I were talking about another mushroom we had found in that area during a walk seven years ago.
“And then another huge thing happened right there!”
The family made four different dishes from the mushrooms, including a mushroom-based pizza and a mushroom ‘roast’, which Alisimon froze and took home with her.
Alisimon said: “I was surprised by how much we were able to get out of it. The mushroom roast my mom made was very good so I froze some of it and brought it home.
“This will keep me fed for the next month, even though I will only eat it twice a week.”
