Songwriter and composer Vivek Verma adds that soothing note to your daily playlist, with his music spanning multiple genres like synthwave, pop and R&B. In his latest track Raahat, the artist creates a unique sound—a fusion of ambient and romantic pop ballad, that’s peppered with soul and a lo-fi vibe.

Regional rap is finally incorporating itself into the more mainstream desi hip-hop scene. Kolkata-based rapper Cizzy, aka Rounok Chakraborty, has been busy capitalising on this expansion, with the city playing the main character in his breakneck speed rap. His lyrical verse and trademark sound, which he describes as “inclusive experimental music for niche intellectual music listeners” has even received a shoutout from Naezy, one of India’s OG rappers, who’s tagged the former as one of the rising stars from this part of the country.

Mumbai-based hip-hop artist MC Tanmay Saxena, better known as Tienas, was the second musician that Azadi Records founder Mo Joshi had signed on to the label, which, in the past, has repped popular talents like Prabh Deep and Seedhe Maut. Tienas’ music gets its fuel from its intricate and masterful production, with the artist reinventing himself with every track.
