An alleged Chicago cop killer was depicted foaming at the mouth in a mugshot released by authorities on Wednesday.
Darian McMillian, 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after a traffic stop turned deadly in the city’s Chatham section on Monday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
In his mugshot, McMillian can be seen sporting a zombie-like mane with white foam covering his open mouth.
In Wednesday’s press conferenceChicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx announced charges against McMillian in the deaths of Officer Enrique Martinez and the driver of a car.
According to CPD, McMillian was in the passenger seat during the stop, which police say was necessary after the vehicle blocked traffic.
Police say that during the stop, officers observed McMillian reach for something from a bag placed near his feet.
That’s when McMillian pulled out an automatic pistol and allegedly began firing — killing Officer Enrique Martinez and the driver of the car, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Police say the alleged killer pushed the Bullet-riding driver out of the car door and climbed onto the driver’s seat and tried to flee the scene.
Authorities allege that McMillian crashed the car and ran into an apartment building – where he removed the ankle monitor with a knife.
He was arrested 10 minutes later, According to WGN9,
A rear passenger in the vehicle was also arrested on Monday, but was later released without charges.
