A Washington, DC coffee shop owner made racist comments against a Spanish-speaking Uber Eats delivery driver, demanding him to “learn English” and mocking his language.
Canna Coffee owner Greg Harris was caught in a viral video. TikTok On Monday, driver Gregorio Amundaren was reprimanded for allegedly earning “money” in the US and not knowing English when taking orders.
“Learn English! Learn it!” Harris yells in Amundarain's face, then yells into Amundarain's phone camera as it begins recording the apparent verbal assault.
“You make money in America, learn English!”
Harris was then seen grabbing the driver's second phone, presumably used for the delivery, and appeared to repeat the racial slur.
“No, speak English,” Amundarain replies, while the angry coffee shop owner continues to yell.
The driver then begins speaking in Spanish, to which Harris is heard angrily mocking the driver and abusing him while standing in front of him.
“This is not your country! This is not your country! Learn English!” the owner yelled directly into the driver's face.

Harris continues to yell and mock Amundarain before he slams a brown paper bag filled with food orders being carried by a delivery driver into his chest and hits him again.
Amundarain walked away, but was followed by Harris, who appears to approach him again before the one-minute video ends.
The video has been viewed nearly 20 million times since it was posted, sparking outrage against the D.C. coffee shop.

“There was no need for me to be treated so disrespectfully,” the Uber Eats driver told the outlet.
According to Fox 5, Amundarain said he filed a report with the DC Police Department about how he was being discriminated against.
Law enforcement officials said they were investigating the incident as a possible hate crime and simple assault.
Uber said it has banned Canna Coffee from its platform. Post X on Wednesday.
“We're disgusted by the behavior depicted in this video. There's no place for hate on our platform, and we've removed this business from our app and are working to check on the well-being of this courier,” the food delivery and ride-sharing company wrote.
Because Amundaren was seen on camera scolding the driver, DC Health — which conducts pass-fail inspections for food establishments in the city — said Cana Coffee was operating illegally when the driver went to pick up the order. WUSA9,
D.C. health officials said they inspected Canna Coffee on Sept. 11 and found the establishment had multiple violations.
Officials then promptly issued a brief suspension and closed the store on Sept. 18 until “further notice.”
However, officials said Canna Coffee remained open and violated the order.
Officials did not disclose the violations, which resulted in Canna Coffee receiving a brief suspension.
It also turned out that the D.C. Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) has been investigating the business for months.
Department officials told WUSA9 that the DLCP filed two notices of violation against Canna Coffee on May 13 and August 8, but they did not say what prompted them to file the notices.
According to WUSA9, Harris and her attorney plan to hold a press conference on Monday.
