A father of the bride accidentally left his daughter at the back of the aisle on her wedding day.
Neil Crossley is the 60-year-old father of daughter Amy Tootie, who recently got married in Yorkshire, England.
The father of the bride accidentally encountered an extraordinary moment during the big day when he walked down the aisle to the altar without the bride.
A moment of misunderstanding between the father of the bride and event staff ensued, with Crossley being stopped by staff about halfway down the aisle and told he needed to turn back to walk down the aisle with his daughter.
The moment was captured on camera as wedding guests laughed as Crossley turned around and walked back to escort the bride away.
He told SWNS that the “initial mess” was funny to everyone in the room, and he was even able to joke about it during the father of the bride’s speech at the wedding reception.
He said, “The joke I made about the guests thinking I was at the wrong wedding got a good laugh, so everyone took it in good spirit.”
Tootie and her husband also thought the moment was funny.
She told SWNS it was just “pure miscommunication.”
“She thought they told her to walk when they actually said wait for me,” he said.
The bride said she and all of her guests laughed at “the perfect moment” and said it brought smiles to everyone’s faces during the emotional moment.
Tottie said, “I especially appreciated it because I was trying so hard not to cry and she helped me control myself.”
He added, “It was a special moment that none of us will forget.”
