MSNBC host Joe Scarborough knew exactly who to blame Wednesday morning Vice President Kamala Harris loses election to Donald Trump: Racism and misogyny – especially among voters of color.
The “Morning Joe” co-anchor and his wife/partner Mica Brzezinski sat down with the Reverend Al Sharpton for an emotional vent session after the vote.
“Democrats need to mature, and they need to be honest. And they need to say ‘Yes, there is misogyny, but it’s not just misogyny from white people,'” Scarborough said. Clip shared by Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra,
The former GOP congressman from Florida insisted, “It’s misogyny on the part of Hispanic men, it’s misogyny on the part of black men – the things we’ve all been talking about – who don’t want a woman to be their Take the lead.”
Scarborough, 61, also claimed that “there may be race issues with Hispanics not wanting a black woman as president of the United States.”
Harris’s father is Jamaican-American and his mother was originally from India. Had she been elected, Harris, 60, would have been the first female US president.
“The Democratic Party – I’ve always found – when you’re sitting down and talking, they like to divide everybody into different groups, and just say ‘Oh, white people don’t like women and black people. Are,” Scarborough explained.
“No!” “It’s time for the Democrats to say…a lot of Hispanic voters have a problem with black candidates,” he said.
“And with other Hispanics!” Piped Up Sharpton, 70.
“Some of the most misogynistic things I’ve heard on this ‘Get Out the Vote’ tour have come from black men,” the activist said. “So you’re absolutely right, it’s not that simple.”
The bullish session angered critics.
“Do they have any idea how ridiculous they look? Is everything and everyone racist?” Self-proclaimed “California conservative” Elizabeth Burns replied to Saavedra’s X post.
Another user shrugged and said, “Let them keep talking like this.” “They will permanently alienate huge swaths of minority voters.”
Some commentators accused Scarborough of racism.
“So according to @JoeNBC people of color didn’t follow instructions from their elite white overlords?” an X user asked. “I think that’s the definition of racism.”
Another asked: “How is it that rich white guys like @JoeNBC think they should be the ones to decide for minorities what is or isn’t racist?”
