And, if you’re heading to Midtown to enjoy Broadway – or here for business, sightseeing or any of the million other reasons to visit the Big Apple – the 1,971-room hotel has it all. Everything any weary traveler could ever need and more.
Built in 1985, the spacious Marquis has a range of facilities including a 24-hour gym with state-of-the-art equipment; an extensive breakfast buffet featuring every choice of meat, pastry and egg imaginable; a cute selfie station; the classy, business-minded M Club; Tasteful rooms decorated with modern art and large LGTVs; numerous upscale restaurants and bars; Futuristic, buzzing, see-through glass elevators and of course, very, very, very close to the best of Broadway.

Somehow, this magical building has as many advantages as the block it’s located on, it houses theaters.
However, this should not scare off budget-minded tourists.
“It’s worth the drive,” Marriott marketing manager Maria Medved told the New York Post about the hotel, where scenes from “Succession” and “Billions” were filmed.

As mentioned above, the Marquis is located in the middle of Broadway next to several shows on the north and side sides of the street.

Marquis Theater
We would be remiss if we did not pay tribute to the Marquis’s relatives. Marquis Theater,
Located on the third floor of the building, the theater is dark for now, but will reopen on Nov. 9 when “Elf the Musical” takes over for the holiday season. The show stars Gray Henson (“Girls5Eva”) as Buddy the Elf and Sean Astin (“Goonies,” “Lord of the Rings,” “Stranger Things,” “Rudy”) will play Santa.

Marriott Marquis Hotel Rooms
After spending a long night out on the town attending a show, you’ll probably want to head back to your room for some much-needed R&R.
This is where Marriott excels.
Their spacious, tasteful rooms – from single-bed studios to executive suites – all feature high-definition flatscreen LGTVs; Attractive, modern but comfortable furniture (I sat straight in my sofa); hip wall art; Luxurious bathroom (with easy-to-use shower head for once in a hotel); Digital watches that charge your phone (!) and plush beds that you’ll get tired of in no time.
During my two-day stay at the Marquis, I slept well both nights. No melatonin, no sleep aids necessary. Just a dark room and a comfortable bed where the mattress seemed to be made of pillows.

Marriott Marquis Design
When you enter the ground floor of the Marquis Building, you are not In fact In hotel.
No, you need to access the science-fiction-like elevator (which, oddly enough, look like larger-than-life lipstick cases) and climb up to the eighth floor.
Once you arrive, take everything with you. The Marriott, as the kids say, is built differently.
The open air concept seems to extend to the heavens with futuristic lifts. Although the hotel was constructed in 1985, it looks like something from Tokyo twenty years from now; The Marquis is sleek, angular and awe-inspiring.
You can see everything from the free eighth floor; You just have to look up.
Now that we’ve seen the scene, we recommend getting in on the ground. Check out the fabulous M Club (more on that later), the exquisite eatery (also on those later) and the outdoor patio aka The Perch. While there, if you look close enough, you’ll see the New Year’s Eve ball waiting to drop in Times Square.

Marriott Marquis Dining Options
Room service isn’t the only option at the Marriott Marquis.
From early morning till late night, the hotel serves a wide variety of cuisine that should satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
Early in the morning, one can opt for their extensive breakfast buffet featuring main dishes like crispy bacon, hot sausage, hearty eggs and dependable oatmeal as well as a variety of pastries (please don’t sleep on the delicious chocolate croissant), bagels Are included. Curd and cereals.
Plus, there’s also a drool-worthy ham carving station. Yes true.
Take your plates and bowls (we’re not counting how many you picked up) to the business- and family-friendly M Club, grab a coffee or two, sit back and enjoy.
If you prefer a more standard experience, the Broadway Lounge offers pricier options like avocado toast (they really don’t skimp on the ‘cado’, as you’ll see below, I got a healthy heap), fresh fruit platters and Does. The bagels are topped with a generous helping of smoked salmon.

While dancing, you can either admire the Midtown skyline or gaze at the movie theater-sized TVs playing cable news and live sports.
At lunch and dinner, one can dine in the upstairs Broadway Lounge or at Revel and Rye, which sit kitty-corner next to each other and enjoy New American cuisine.

After drinks at Revel and Rye my party opted for the Broadway Lounge. We started with Ryan’s spicy chicken (which wasn’t that hot in our humble opinion) and a fried shrimp basket, which was served with a vibrant Aleppo aioli.
The app party didn’t stop here. Focacci with blistered tomatoes, caramelized red onions, Parmigiano-Reggiano and garlic oil came next. Even though I knew the main entrees were coming, I couldn’t stop filling up on this bready hor d’oeuvre. The charcuterie plate was also not tilted.
Finally, my entree, steak frites, arrived. It’s time to loosen the old belt.
My tender piece of beef was swimming in a red wine reduction next to a bed of deliciously seasoned herbs. This is a generous portion and a takeout box may be necessary.
Somehow, when all was said and done, our party decided we needed dessert and opted for the Marquis Strawberry Tower, which more than lives up to its lofty title.
Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream layered with strawberry compote and vanilla cake bites is topped with mini cheesecake bites, whipped cream, sprinkles, pirouette cookies, Twizzlers and a swirly pop. Get a team to knock it out and thank us later.

Marriott Marquis Gym
Okay, after all that, you’re probably realizing that a stroll through Central Park isn’t going to burn off all the calories you just lost (at least if you enjoyed it as much as I did).
If that’s the case, you might want to head to the Marquis’ breathtaking 23rd floor gym overlooking the city. Complete with 16 treadmills, ellipticals, Stair Master, Peloton bikes and machines with free weights, you can easily get any type of workout in here.

Miscellaneous Marriott Marquis Facilities
Just when you thought you’ve heard everything about the Marquis, we’re just getting started.
As mentioned above, the M Club Lounge serves as a comfortable respite for tired businessmen who want to relax with their laptops or curl up with a good book. On weekdays, they serve light refreshments from 5pm onwards, think pizza, mozzarella salad, mozzarella sticks, charcuterie and soft drinks.

Traveling with kids?
Be sure to ask for the hotel passport which sends them on exploratory quests throughout the Marquis. The best part is that if they make it, there’s a gelato prize waiting for them at the end.
Plus, take a selfie with the little ones (or the whole family) at the golden “Amazing” selfie station. Boom. Holiday card complete. you are welcome.

Speaking of holidays, Marriott expanded its Christmas program offerings after high demand last year. In addition to “Elf the Musical”, they will also host 25 days of Christmas events starting on December 1. Highlights include the Very Merry Santa Brunch (Dec. 14), Christmas carol singing by Broadway stars, and cookie-decorating classes.
final call
The rooms are attractive yet stylish. The decoration of the hotel is amazing. The food is delicious (and the portions are quite generous). The gym has everything you need and more. M Club will make you feel like you are at home. The elevators make you feel like you’re living in “Blade Runner” (and it gets you very close to the Midtown amusement park rides). Additionally, the Marquis also houses a Broadway theater.
Basically, you don’t have to leave your hotel to experience Broadway And Spend a night on the town.
But if you do, there are a dozen shows on your block.
