Rodeo bulls escape mall enclosure and go on a rampage through Massachusetts yards

It's the running of the bulls – right through your backyard!

The East Coast briefly looked like the Wild West on Sunday afternoon when eight bulls escaped from a rodeo enclosure in the parking lot of a Massachusetts mall, miraculously with no injuries — but one bull is still at large.

A SHOCKING video shows the moment a herd of bulls broke through a fence during a rodeo at Emerald Square Mall.

They ran through a crowded parking lot, crashed into a tent and then headed toward U.S. Highway 1. The wild animals then fled into the woods, where the first of eight escapees was quickly captured.

“Community members should exercise extreme caution and avoid approaching any bulls,” the North Attleboro Fire Department said in a warning issued to the community Sunday.

North Attleboro Fire and Police, along with Massachusetts Environmental Police, searched for the remaining members of the herd with help from New England Rodeo members in Norton and members of the rodeo at the Mall.

The herd moved through the woods and into residential parts of Attleboro, making unexpected — and unwelcome — visits to the homes of some locals.

Six other bulls were trapped behind the fence of a home in Attleboro around 4:30 p.m. They were all put into a trailer without any obstructions, but one bull still escaped.

“As soon as I got out and I looked over there I said those aren't horses, those are literally bulls and 'Oh my God,'” said Attleboro resident Chris Mooney. NBC Connecticut,

“Two of them were laying down and another one was trying to get out by moving the fence, and the others were just sitting there.”

Others were sympathetic to the cattle's plight, but were glad to see them moved out of their neighborhood without harm.

“At first I felt bad for the bulls. I thought — they ran away for a reason,” Ji Sounthonvat, a neighbor of the homeowner who accidentally captured six of the bulls, told NBC Connecticut.

First responders are still searching for the only missing bull. The Festival Rodeo, a one-day event from which the eight escaped, has been shut down and the cause of the escape is under investigation.
