Angie Bones (front door), Peter Gruber, Nicole Avant (wag the Dog), Kerry Selig (passengers), and Carlota Espinosa are among the producers listed on the project along with Perry. Aaron Zigman is composing the soundtrack for the film, with Michael Watson as cinematographer and Macy Hoy as editor.

Netflix has officially revealed the release date six triple eightConfirming our previous report that the film will release globally on Netflix on Friday, December 20, 2024. The film will also be released in select theaters from December 6.

“During the height of the conflict in World War II in approximately 1943, priorities changed due to the difficulties of the war, and most mail reaching troops on the front lines was stopped. As the warehouses begin to fill with incomplete deliveries, the soldiers’ hopes are dashed as they lose touch with their families at home. To fix this problem, the 6888th Battalion – the Women’s Army Corps’ all-Black battalion including more than 800 female soldiers – is dispatched to tackle the impossible challenge of sorting through years of backlogged mail. Even though military high-ups expect the plan to fail, Six Triple Eight is determined to give hope to soldiers and families around the world.

What was the 6888th battalion?
6888th Central Postal Directory BattalionNicknamed “Six Triple Eight”, the Women’s Army Corps was an all-black battalion of the US Army during World War II.
The battalion, consisting of five companies, had 855 personnel, including enlisted men and officers. The Six Triple Eight was the first all-female, all-black battalion sent overseas during World War II.
Its purpose was to assist the US Army, which due to the war was facing a severe shortage of soldiers who could manage its postal service.
In February 1945, after attending basic training in Georgia, the battalion was moved to Britain. Arriving at the temporary post office in Birmingham, the battalion sorted out the mail, which was estimated to have a backlog of 17 million items, some of which had been in the post office for two years.

This important task was supposed to take six months to complete, but thanks to the hard work, intelligence and perseverance of Six Triple Eight, it took only three months. They had completed not only the US Army’s backlog but also the UK and France’s backlog.
Once the tasks at Birmingham were completed, the battalion was sent across the English Channel to Rouen in Free France and had to deal with other backlogs. In October 1945, the Rouen backlog was completed.
The battalion took part in a parade ceremony where Joan of Arc was hanged before being placed in a luxurious hotel in Paris, where all remaining members received first-class service. At this time, the war had ended, and the battalion had been reduced by 300. Another 200 were discharged from service in January 1946.
Upon the battalions return to the United States in February 1946, it would be disbanded at Fort Dix, New Jersey. At the time, there was no public recognition of his military service.
Several years later, in February 2009, the battalion was honored at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Three former unit members participated: Alice Dixon, Mary Ragland, and Gladys Shuster Carter. That same year, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama honored Ragland and Dixon.

What is the production status? six triple eight,
In issue #1327 of Production Weekly, it was reported that production would take place between January 9 and April 6, 2023. According to Netflix’s casting announcement on January 11, he confirmed that “Principal photography for the film began this week.”

The aircraft visible in the background of the photo is likely a replica of one of the most iconic aircraft used by the United States in World War II. The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, nicknamed “That’s All, Brother”, led the creation of 800 other aircraft that carried the 13,000 paratroopers who jumped into Normandy on D-Day, beginning the liberation of France from the forces of Nazi Germany. of. The aircraft were used several times throughout the conflict and also took part in other operations such as Market Garden, Repulse and Varsity.
After active duty, the aircraft was sold into civilian ownership but became defunct. When it was found in an airplane boneyard in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, significant efforts were made to restore the aircraft. The restoration has made That’s All Brother airworthy. It has participated in air shows and numerous celebrations, notably the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, where the aircraft flew over the Statue of Liberty.
