When Jessica dropped her young daughter, Victoria, off at her sister's house for the afternoon, she hoped everything would be okay.
Jessica had to work on the weekend, so she asked her sister — who has three kids of her own — if she could look after her daughter while she was away.
However, as reported KidspotWhen she picked her up from her sister's house, she didn't expect to receive a hefty bill for everything her daughter did – and touched – over the weekend.
'How ridiculous is this girl?'
Jessica shared text messages she exchanged with her sister on TikTok, which soon turned into a major feud.
Her sister's message began, “Here's a breakdown of all the things Victoria uses in my home.”
“Times are getting tough and I think it’s only fair that we charge for the things they’ve used while they’ve been here.”
Attached to this message was a bill for Jessica to pay, detailing each charge she wanted reimbursed by her sister.
Some were more than reasonable – especially when considering the financial hardships some were going through. Victoria had apparently wet the bed, which Jessica's sister charged her $10 to clean up.
The sister also took her children and Victoria to an Italian restaurant, where Jessica was charged $17 for the meal.
The reasonable fees ended there.
Jessica had to pay $3 for three cups of apple juice, and was also asked to pay $1.25 for “paint used while drawing,” $3 for three bags of chips Victoria ate, and $7 for “using electricity to play video games.”
Even a cup of milk would cost Jessica $1, which, honestly, would have covered the cost of an entire can.
Other charges included 50 cents for flushing the toilet, which Victoria reportedly did five times, and an additional 50 cents for washing her hands each time.
Jessica's sister said that Victoria also wanted to go to the park, so she charged her a whopping $3.75 for petrol to go there, $4.50 to watch Netflix and $10 to use the Wi-Fi on her iPad.
The message ended with, “Please pay $72 by April 30, 2024 to avoid interest.”
An angry Jessica posted on TikTok to air her grievances to the rest of the world.
All she could say in response to Bill was: “You have some problems! How do I reject this BS?”
In the video he said, “How ridiculous is this girl?”
“Like, she flushed the toilet five times, $10 for Wi-Fi, $4.50 for Netflix, a bag of chips, really? Really? That's how ridiculous she is? You know?”
However, Jessica's sister responded to her message, arguing that the bill was completely fair.
“If she took my niece to daycare they would charge her at least $150 to take care of her,” Jessica's sister said in a message shared in a follow-up video.
“I have a lot of work, you know there are a lot of people living here, so him coming here was like an extra meal for me.”
Jessica's sister complained that Victoria was “an extra person breathing in my house. She was taking my children away from me”.
“This definitely caused a lot of stress that you didn't even know was there,” he wrote.
“I was mentally exhausted, it was very stressful having so many kids here. I couldn't deal with it.”
'New Sister Time'
Both videos divided opinion, with some arguing that charging so much to care for one's own family member was “ridiculous”.
Someone asked, “I'm on your side!! Who takes money for favors?”
Another wrote: “Honestly if I was there my kids would never go there.”
The third said: “I babysit my sister's kids for free and they eat all my food and make a mess, but I love them like my own children so I never thought of asking for money.”
“This is crazy!” another commented. “Girl, it’s time for a new sister.”
But some don't think his allegations were excessive.
“I have to pay a bedwetting fee and everything else at Olive Garden is absolutely insane,” one comment read.
Another agreed, adding, “Only the Olive Garden meal and bed wetting charges are valid.”
“Everything else is wild.”
